A WHOLE DAY NOT NAILED TO ITSELF

like a floating tissue covered in variants
traveling towards innocent parties,
driving the mazes in the the cracked car
wind whistles through
every encounter an intersection and
therefore a crucifix so you must
choose, again, lateral or liminal
or threadbare stretched taut between tacks,
how will you absorb
the thickness of time?

EVIL

a soiled fleece in the ferns
a smudged out horizon
fire leaves in a fire sky
last gasps of life muted by
actual gasping
we seal up our homes
bring the rain and the ocean
underground
smoke air moves
through smoke places
energy cancels energy
rabbits and crows skirt the human gulf
intolerable if not broken down
crumbs too minuscule
to snack on
squishy shoes pace
parched lands
don’t want those worlds
to touch

THE MARBLE + THE SCREEN

brain to brain
crows speed caw
protect the lifeguard
dissolve the screen
the rowers row
recognition returns
the screens feign protection
glass knob threatens drop
intersection of the airplane and the eagle
the eagle and the gull
set out to repair the screen
computer music and wind
immune to genius
it’s hot and it’s raining
same petal as yesterday
libido snatcher, add your woo
to the crowd
to harm is to be received
Simone would you go out this late
in a coat with a hood
new girl stamp on your crown
mini skirt talking to you in the
refrigerator back room,
for a flash it’s all good, heart stinging
in the blue lights, safe after skidding out
on a slick rain hill
homeopathic world song
rolling to
halt
